Tired of lackluster iced tea? Join us on a deep dive into the art of the perfect chilled brew. We'll explore five of our most beloved blends and share our go-to recipe for making a perfect half-gallon pitcher every time.

More Than Just a Drink: The Culture of Cool

There is a unique magic in a glass of iced tea. It’s the clinking of ice cubes in a tall glass on a sun-drenched porch, a symbol of warm hospitality offered to a guest, and a quiet moment of personal refreshment in the middle of a busy day. In many ways, iced tea is synonymous with summer itself. It’s the drink of community gatherings, backyard barbecues, and lazy afternoons spent in the shade. But beyond its role as a cultural touchstone, the ritual of brewing and enjoying iced tea is a sensory experience. It’s an act of mindfulness that transforms simple ingredients into something truly special!

A Flavor for Every Moment: Meet Our Iced Tea All-Stars

Choosing the right tea is the first and most important step. While many teas can be served cold, some are simply born for it. We’ve selected five blends that are exceptionally delicious and refreshing when served over ice.

Pomberry Punch: This vibrant, caffeine-free infusion is a delicious celebration of pure fruit. It's a stunning medley built on a base of apple pieces, hibiscus, and rose hips, bursting with the flavors of pomegranate & blueberry. Without a traditional tea base, the deep, authentic fruit notes shine creating the canvas for this wonderfully sweet, slightly tart, and refreshing choice for all-day sipping.

Citrus Oolong: A truly refreshing and sophisticated blend. We pair the complex, floral notes of a slightly-toasty oolong tea with the bright, zesty character of orange peel. This creates a beautifully balanced and uplifting cup that is both smooth and invigorating.

Ginger Honey Peach: This delightful black tea blend is a perfect harmony of flavors. The Chinese black tea provides a rich foundation for the warming spice of real ginger root and the soft, nectar-like sweetness of peach. It’s a comforting classic that really shines when served over ice.

Hibis-kissed Blackberry: Bold and beautiful, this blend is a feast for the senses. The tart, cranberry-like flavor of hibiscus gives this tea a zesty punch and a very light crimson hue. The addition of sweet blackberry provides a lush, fruity balance for a truly memorable and full-bodied green tea.

Lemonade Stand: We’ve captured the nostalgic taste of summer in this refreshing caffeine free blend. Using a green rooibos base with hibiscus and lemongrass, this blend tastes just like classic pink lemonade with a twist... It's a healthy and satisfying treat the whole family can enjoy.

Our Go-To Recipe for a Perfect Pitcher

Making a flawless half-gallon of iced tea is simple with the right technique. Our go-to for the job is the Handy Brew Tea Steeper. This tool makes creating a flavorful concentrate mess-free and could not be easier to use.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Measure Your Tea: Add 3 tablespoons (or weigh out 1/2 oz.) of your favorite Savoy Loose Leaf Tea into your handy brew steeper.

  2. Heat Your Water: Heat 14 ounces of water to the appropriate temperature for your chosen tea (e.g., 208°F for herbal, 195°F for oolong).

  3. Steep the Concentrate: Pour the hot water in and let the tea steep for its recommended time (e.g., 7-10 minutes for herbal, 4 minutes for oolong). Add your desired sweetener here.

  4. Prepare Your Pitcher: While the tea is steeping, fill a half-gallon pitcher about halfway with a mixture of cold water & ice cubes.

  5. Release and Chill: Once steeping is complete, simply lift the steeper and place it on top of your pitcher. This will release the hot tea concentrate through the internal filter directly over the ice/water mixture, flash-chilling it to lock in the flavor.

  6. Top It Off: If needed, add cold, filtered water to top off the pitcher. If the mixture is still somewhat warm, add only ice. Give it a good stir, and your perfect half-gallon of iced tea is ready to serve!

Elevate Your Brew: Simple Iced Tea Creations

Want to take your iced tea to the next level? Try these simple enhancements:

  • Pomberry Punch Spritzer: Add sparkling water instead of still water and garnish with fresh cranberries and a sprig of mint.

  • Aromatic Citrus Oolong: Garnish with a fresh orange wheel and a sprig of thyme to enhance its aromatic qualities.

  • Extra Peachy Ginger Honey: Muddle a few fresh peach slices at the bottom of the glass before adding ice and tea.

  • Tart Hibis-kissed Blackberry: Garnish with fresh blackberries and a lime wedge to complement its tartness.

  • Classic Lemonade Stand Arnold Palmer: Create a perfect Arnold Palmer by mixing it half-and-half with your favorite classic black tea. We recommend our Braveheart Black Tea for the job.
